Cold Hardy Bamboo

Our most Cold Hardy bamboo

Use this guide if you experience winter low temps of 5º F or less

The following are bamboo that should have little or no damage when exposed to the listed temperatures for a short period of time. Winds or prolonged cold spells can cause more significant damage to culms and foliage. The root mass often will survive colder temperatures, even if the culms die back to the ground, sending up healthy new shoots the following spring. Many groundcover bamboos, although leaf hardy to near 0° F, are root hardy well below 0° F.
